LEGISLATURE AMENDMENT BILL.
AND THE -LEGISLATIVE COUN- / OIL. (Bjp Telegraph—Frets Association.) WELLINGTON?Last Night. In the Legislative Council this afternoon, the Hon. H. D. Bell moved that the amendments made in the other House to the Legislature Amendment Bill be taken into consideration to-morrow. Tho Hon. W. F. Carncross- moved as an amendment that to-morrow the Council resolve itself into committee of the whole to consider the amendments. He said that when the Bill left the Council.it was harmless and necessary, but it was coming back as »"« very different measure. It was now loaded with a great constitutional principle. The amendment was carried. The Hon. J. Rigg gave notice that he wou,ld move that the Council disagree with the amendments made by the other Chamber in the Legislature Amendment Bill.
