STRATEGIC MOVE.
The waterside workers of Wellington, who have been badly beaten in their "fight to a finish," are now considering a strategic move by which they might gain an advantage. It is suggested that tho whole of the watersiders, or as many of them as possible, return to work in a body. If tliis suggestion were adopted, and they could control the voting at the meetings of the Arbitration Union, thoy could eliminate any members they might think undesirable and thus seize tho whole of the work. When this was accomplished, they could cancel their registration, as they did on a former occasion, and score a triumph for the Federation of Labour. To prevent any such contingency as this arising, it is desirable that the new Union should be composed as largely ns possible of country workers,' or others whose sympathies are with the Arbitration Act. The employers, and Arbitrationiats, having won the battle at every point, must not allow themselves to be outgeneraled at the finish.
