A SUSPICIOUS FIRE.

AT PETONE 'WOBKSHOPS. WELLINGTON, Last Night. (Early this morning a fire was discovered at the back of the stores shed at the Petone railway workshops. The wall of the shed, which contains a valuable stock of railway requirements, including inflammable material such asr kerosene, turpentine, and lubricating oils, was burnt through. It is evident that an incendiary had been at work. Some cotton waste found near where tihe fire was burning was soaked in kerosene. Fortunately the damage done

was trifling, as the flames were quickly checked by. the watchmen, of whom several have been employed during the present labour troubles.
