AFFAIRS AT DUNEDIN.
MR BELCHER WELCOMED. DUNEDIN, Last Night. the police havS recognised two other men wbb took part in the disturbance this morning, and these, will in' duo who be apprehended. One of them will be charged with destroying property, having cut open sacks with a knife when loading operations had, been commenced on the Taviuni, and also the Victoria. Mr Belcher, secretary of the Seamen's Union, returned to-night, and received a very hearty Welcome from about 1000 people, including a large number of seamen. He was cheered time and again as he was leaving the station. Messrs Smith and Clark left this morning for Wellington, where they will represent the Dunedin branch of the Australasian Federated Seamen's Union at a further conference of delegates, Auckland and Wellington being also represented by two delegates. . The police force ! >yas augumentocl this evening by the arrival of a detachment of constables from Invcrcargill.
