BY THE MEMBER FOR OTAKI. WELLINGTON. Last Night. In the House of Representatives this afternoon, Mr J. Robertson member for Otaki, stated that he wished to withdraw the statement he had made some days ago that Colonel Heard waa in charge of the special cor stables. lie explained that he had met Colonel Heard, and was now certain that he was not the officer who gave the order that he (Mr Robertson) had overheard. That officer held a similar rank ta Colonel Heard, but he could not name him in the House, as he had, so far, not had an opportunity of meeting him.
