A RED FED. CHALLENGE.
One of the Red Feds who addressed a crowd in Masterton on .Saturday night repeatedly issued a challenge to the Ago to prove that there were watensiders' pickets in Masterton. The individual in question might just as reasonably have challenged us to prove that the moon was not made of cheese. On no occasion has the Age stated that there were waterside pickets in Masterton. In our ksue of Monday last we stated that watersidens had come to this town, and that it was not known whether they were here as pickets or in search of work. This cannot, by any stretch of tho imagination, he construed into a statement that the men were here as pickets. We have since ascertained that some of them came here to look for work. At least one of them sought"-and obtained relief from the police, on the plea that he was going to employment. j
