STRIKES AND POLITICS.
It the workers in this Dominion have any hopo of .securing representation in the Parliament of the country, they are -shattering it by their attitude in regard to the industrial] upheaval. The greater the sympathy that is expressed with tho Federation of Labour and tho promoters of strikes, the less chance will there be of .securing the return of Labourites to Parliament. There is a nit inconsiderable section of the community that is willing to concede tho right of honest labour to representation in the House. There are few indeed who would place their destiny. and the destiny of the country, in the hands of firebrands, if the trades unions co-operate with the Red Fedorationists in bringing about a general' paralysis of trade, they will only have themselves to blame if the masses of the people turn against their nominees when they seek election. The Labour Party has now and hero to consider whether it will join the Red Feds and go under at the polls, or whether it will condemn striko methods and secure the sympathy of moderate people.
