Mr Sievers, of Pahiatua, has been appointed to succeed Mr H. Griffith, as agent in Eketahuna for the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. Mr H. McLaren, of Mastertan, who was motoring in the Alfredton dis-1 trict, had a bone in his arm broken on Saturday at Tawataia, through the cranking handle back-kicking as he was starting the engine. Mr E. P. Greville, of the-Lands and Survey Department, who is wellknown in Master ton, has been appointed by the Public Service Commissioner to the position of of Surveys in the Auckland district, with, headquarters a£ Hamilton. Prior to leaving Wellington he vyas presented with a valuable travelling bag by his" fellow-officers of the department. The death occurred at her residence, Broad street, Palmerston North, on Thursday of Mrs J. Redwood, a well-known and much-esteem-ed resident of that district. She was a prominent member of St. Patrick's congregation, and \vas much to the fore in various departments of church' work. The late Mrs .Redwood was 66 years of age. She was-a. native of West Bromwich, England; 3 and had been 38 years in the Dominion,.
