DESTRUCTIVE FIRE.
FIVE HOUSES BUHNED. (By Astociation.) CHBISTOHUBCH, Last Night. Four houses were totally destroyed and one badly damaged in a fire in Milne-street, Speydon, at ten minutes past jEwo this morning. The House partially destroyed was No; 22, ownedhy ;Mrs H. Johmtonj insured '"with the United' Insurance Ooinf any i:§or >'■ £126, .ajid ■ the how&hold goods with the Victorian Insurance Company for. £IOO. The houses completely, destroyed were: No; 24, unoccupied), and owned iby Mr W. J. Sarkeld of 69, St*. Albans-street, insurance £BO in the State Fire Office; No. 26, unoccupied, and owned by Mr Pearse, insured in the State Fire Office for £IOO j No. 28, occupied by Mr A. Belamy and owned by Mrs E. M. Shortland. The building was insured with the ' Phoenix Insurance Company for £IOO. There was no insurance on furniture.No. 30, occupied by Miss Sandford, and owned by Mr Joseph Rawlins. The building was insured for £136 in the State Fire Office, and there was no insurance on the household goods.
