OVERDUE STEAMER.
UNFOUNDED RUMOURS AFLOAT,
(By Telegravh — Press A ssociation.) WELLINGTON., Last Night.
Rumours were current in the city to-day that the Federal-Shire steamer Morayshire, due here from Auckland, was ashore at Terawhiti. Nothing could be learned to support sudh a story, and the Secretary of the General Post Office states to-night that there was nothing in it. He had communicated with every eliore station, including Terawhiti, nothing about the vessel. It is presumed that, in view of the severity of t&e weather last night, the Morayshire kept away out to sea, thus accounting for her being overdue.
