QUARANTINE REGULATIONS. * WOMAN'S BAD PLIGHT. , (Received Last Night, 8.40 o'clock.) SYDNEY, October 2. Instead of relaxing, the Federal authorities are tightening the quarantine regulations upon Sydney. Nobody except those successfully vaccinated can leave Sydney. Persons immune to vaccine must remain in Sydney until the Commonwealth authorities release the city. The newspaper Sun states that a woman from New Zealand, possessing only a little means, which is near at an end, sought to return home with her children. She is in an advanced condition of heart disease and unfit for vaccination.. The New South Wales health officers certified to that effect, but the Commonwealth authorities refusod to give her a clearance. The woman is compelled to stay at a cheap lodging-house.
CASES IN SYDNEY. (Received this morning 12.10 o'clock.) SYDNEY, Oct. 2. *• Four oasea of small-pox were reported to-day. ' - ■ * THAMES DISTRICT FREE. {By Telegraph—Press Association^ THAMES, Last Night. The Thames district is now entirely free from s.nialipox. The few cases in the outlying districts are now completely cured. Restrictions are still placed on indiscriminate travelling amongst natives. Though this necessarily inconveniences some, it is recognised that such steps are absolutely necessary in the interests of the health of the community.
