NOTORIOUS TRAIN-ROBBER.

A REMARKABLE CAREER,

(Reoeived Last Night, 9.35 o'clock.) VANCOUVER, Sept. 5.

The death occurred in prison of George Bell, a miner and the most notorious train-robber and goal breaker in North America.

For fifty years he was engaged in robbing trains. He was frequently captured and imprisoned for life, but managed to escape. Many years ago he took part in the Australian gold rushes, which were prominent around Coolgardie. He was afterwards engaged in the slave trade in Turkey. He was never guilty of violence, even when he could thus gain his freedfenai. He was known to have done many acts of benevolence. He was 1 weil educated. He was often reported as dead and read his own obituary not tices in' the newspapers with great amusement.
