FOOTBALL.
WAIRARAPA v. &ARLBORQUGH. . THE VISITING TEAM. TJie following team has been picked to represented Marlborough against Wellington on the 16th iust., Horowhenua on the 20th., and Wairarapa on the 21st:— Full back: A. Pigon. Three-quarters' \ L. Buckley, E. Pfankuch, O. Lane. Five-eighths: W. Sotheran and J. O'Rourke (captain). Half back: D. Costello. Wing-forward: J. Jackson. Forwards: L. Robinson, R. Booyle, G. Forbes, J. McDonald, W. Dew, R. Shendan and Avery. Excepting five or eix of the members, the team is composed of young players, new to representative honours. Of the others, Sotheran has represented the West .Coast and Wellington; Pfankuch is an ex-Tara-naki player, McDonald played for the Maoris against Wellington a few weeks ago, and was selected for the Maori tour of New Sputh Wales, but was unable to make the trip. Sheridan and Forbes are also old campaigners, and both have represented the South Island. The' president of the Marlborough Rugby Union (Mr J. L. Lord) will probably accompany the teanj as manager.
