WAIRARAPA HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD
ORDINARY MEETING, TliO ordinary nieetiiig of the Wairnrapa Hospital and Charitable Aid Board was held in the board's office yesterday, there being present: Messrs E. G. Eton (chairman), J. C. Ewington, J. D. Wilson, J. H.. Murray Jackson, A. B. Robertson, J. Dawson, S. :W. Kummer, V. Moore, W. Moore,- G. Bennett, A. D. MoLeod, and W. Fisher. Leave of abp sence was granted to Messrs Cornelius, Beetham, MorriSon and Speedy. The opinion of the board's solicitor on the question of chairmanship/Was read. This was to the effect that Mr Eton had not ceased to be chairman reason' of his shaving 1 re-elation. ;■ •*' The treasurer's statement showed receipts since last meeting amounting to £3595 13s 6d. These included Government subsidy amounting to £1276 7s 9d, and levies from local authorities amounting to £llOl 19s 4d'. The expenditure far the period was £3607 3s 2d. The,, balance in the bank at date amounted to £1046 4s Bd. ' • • A letter was read from the clerk to the Featherston County Cooincil, protesting against the large increase in the charitable aid levy, and complaining, that it had not received the annual statement.—THe chairman stated that the clerk Itad sent a reply, giving the reasons for the increased levy, Md- y cheque to W ,«» • rK »ived._Tl» com'.liunication. was received. The' reports of the meetings of the Finance Committee, Hospital and Charitable, Aid Committee, and District Nurse Committee were read.
