KNOX CHURCH.
CONGREGATIONAL MEETING. The annual congregational meeting of Knox Church, Masterton, was held on Tuesday night. There was a large attendance, the llev. A. T. Thompson, the Moderator in the chair, supported by Revs. E. C, Tenncnt, M. B. Harris, L. Thompson, Dr Black, and H. Bloomfield, members of Presbytery. The report and balance-sheet were •submitted by Messrs E. Feist and H. T. Wood, showing the total income of the congregation for the year at £1433 10s Id. Of this amount £725 8s Id was allocated to the building fund, £llO 15s 8d for missions, with £665 froip collections and seat rents. At the end of June there was a debit balance on the building account of £391. Since then, the whole of this sum has been received in promises and donations. During the past seven or eight years between £5500 and £6OOO has been expended by the congregation, and the fact that the whole of this has been subscribed is a splendid testimony to the fine spirit of the people of Knox Church. Addresses were delivered by the chairman and visiting ministers, and Mr James McGregor gave an historical resumie of the church in Masterton, which was listened to with great interest. Musical items were rendered during the evening—two anthems by the choir, solos by Misses McGregor and Miller and Messrs Stewart and Ibbetsen. . • " Mr Purcell Webb: presided at the organ, and also gave a solo.
