JULY WOOL SALES.

Full reports concerning the July wool sales in London have oome to hand by mail. These show that while the prices obtained at the sales were satisfactory, a period of quietness had been passed through in the wool trade since the close of the third series, with various forces militating against new business. The stringency of the money market, with heavy purchases in the colonies to be paid for, the prolonged struggle in the Balkans, and the .uncertainty as to what America would finally settle upon in the way of a tariff, all helped to impose a spirit of caution. It is ■satisfactory to find that the position of the staple was sufficiently sound to withstand these adverse oonditions.
