The Times, referring to the ceremony in connection with the laying of the Commonwealth Buildings, eays: "It is rather more than twelve years since tiho King, as Duke of York, opened at Melbourne the first Parliament of the Commonwealth. During all that time the new Dommj ion has prospered more and more abundantly, and in the process has impressed "itself, with a new welcome force, upon the common life of the British world."
