THE GAMING BILL.
The Primer Minister has promised that he will place no obstacle in the way of the Gaming Bill introduced by Dr Newman coming before the House for discussion. The forms of the House are so easy of (manipulation that the Government may, if it is so disposed, block a measure introduced by a private meuuber, so that it will not see the light of day. This privilege has beeß used in the past to such an extent that private members have had their rights aibrogated in an almost shameless manner. It is to be hoped ,that tine -Prime Mmjster will not follow the bad example of'his predecesisors. The Gaining Bill is of vital interest to a of the communciiy, and it is most desirable that the House should be afforded \an opportbuinity of expressing an opinion .upon 'ifc.., .
