DOMINION HOSPITALS.

QUESTION OF MAINTENANCE. (By Telegraphs—Press Association.) WELLINGTON Night. At a meeting of the Wellington Hospital Board to-day, a suggestion was received from Dr Valintine, In-spector-General of Hospitals, that all hospitals in the Dominion /should adopt a uniform maintenance fee of three guineas per week. He pointed out that in the case of those unable to pay, the boards had power to charge persons according to their means in necessitous oases, each case being dealt with on its merits. Dr Valintine considered that the adoption of such a plan would result in an increased income, And would avoid the 1 need for increases in 'levies on the local bodies. The matter was referred to the Hospital Committee for a report. |
