THE GREY ELECTION.
As was expected, the Grey election has been very closely contested. Although tho final figures are not to hand, it would appear that the Government candidate (Mr Michel) lias topped the poll in the first ballot, arid that he will have to contest the second ballot -with the Socialist candidate (Mr Webb). The township of Grey will decide the ©lection, and if tho votes recorded .at the first ballot count for anything, Mr Michel should win comfortably. The "Liberals" have been-badly, though: somewhat unex, pectedly r beaten. The Reform Party has reason to feel more than satisfied with 'tftfli psrospects. :"
