POLO-PLAYING.
The foundation of a Polo Club in the Wairarapa marks another step towards tihe encouragement of clean and healthy sport. Polo-playing, like hunting, may be confined to a United number of people. It is, nevertheless, a sport that provides wholesome exercise and furnishes a test of horsemanship, endurance, and keenness of the eye. The Ramgitikei and Hawke's Bay Polo Clubs have been in existence for many years, and have been well supported. Wo have no doubt that the Wairarapa will furnish ponieg ana players that will dis: tinguish themselves in the field. With due deference to Mr Witty, and Tther members of the House of Representatives who consider polo-plray-l:ig inimical to the defence of the ountry, we welcome the formation of a club in tihe district that will afford pleasure to a considerable section of the community.
