A SHEARERS' AGREEMENT.

It is satisfactory to be able to report that an agreement, operative for three years, lhas been come to between tihe Stheepownera' Association and tihe Shearers' Federation. Under this agreement the conditions at present operating in the Wairarapa will be made general throughout the Dominion. The shearers have, apparently, abandoned a number of their claims, and the owners hiave recognised that the demand of £1 per hundred for shearing sheep and lambs is a reasonable one, The conference held a few weeks ago having proved abortive, it was feared that the prospect for the coming season in some parts of the Dominion would not be bright. However, the parties concerned have come to terms, and there i s reason to hope that the agreement arrived at will be Ihonourably ob served! by both parties.
