The youngsters art; told ull about the invasion of Britain, hy Julius Caesar, the Wafra of the iki-.m, the doings of Oliver Cromwell, auvt ;; uuh like. They get a. smattering of knowledge of tho political history of lir.gland. But hardly a word is mentioned of the political history of NZealand. The subject of political economy is entirely neglected. Tho result is that when children leavu the they have no ambitiuii 1.0 participate in the serious affairs oi State. They have no ooncopiiott of the true significance of politic!:. They know nothing, or practically nothing, of the political history oi : lias ofr any other oountry.
