THE WAIHI TROUBLE.
Frocn all appearances, the Wnihi trouble is going to play an important part.-in the G-rey election. The Labour Federationists are striving to poison the public mind against the Reform candidate by declaring that Mr Massey had done a grievou.? wrong in sondirig the police to Wnihi to tnaintairi law and oVder. It need hardly be said that the action of the Government in regard to Wailii has been applauded by every law-abiding citizen in the Dominion. Mr Michel very properly states that if a Labour Government had been in office the name course would have been pursued. The experience in Atistralia supports the contention of Mr Michel. If the Labour Federationists cannot find a stronger case against the Government than its attitude over the Wnihi disturbance, their position is surely weak.
