FIRE IN MASTERTON.

OUTBUILDINGS DAMAGED. An outbreak of fire occurred laßt night in a store shed at the back of tho premises occupied by Mr J. Hume, storekeeper, and spread to a cart shed belonging to Mr 0. F. Daniell. The fire brigade ai rived on the scene, in response to a vigorous alarm sounded on the fire bell, and owing to some difficulty with the water supply, tho men were handicapped for a time. When n connection was effected the fire was soon got unde?, but not before considerable damage was done.

A quantity of stock in Mr Hume's storo shed was damaged, and the loss is considerable, but is, we understand, covered by insurance. Mr Daniell had a number of vehicles damaged, as well as the shed, and he estimates his loss at about £IOO. The building was not insured.
