THE SHEARERS' DISPUTE.
CONFERENCE IN WELLINGTON
NO AGREEMENT ARRIVED' AT.
(By Telegraph.—Brest Association.) WELLINGTON, Last Night.
A conference of representatives of and shearers was held in Wellington to-day, to discuss the shearers' demands. After two and a-half hours' discussion, no agreem3nt on any of the' clauses in the shearers' demands was reached, Consequently the Shearers 1 Executive has decided that the men shall not make engagements for the coming season at less than 22s 6d per hundred for, blade shearing and 20s for machin;—the rates specified in the demands. Australian shearers have b?en cabled accordingly, and advised to stay away.
