A DANGEROUS THOROUGHFARE.
In our issue of yesterday vie urged that if the gas-pillars were removed from tlie centre of the main thoroughfare in Masterton, the danger of accident from the slipping of horses in Queeni street might be minimised. Last night, Mrs Lewis Smith ra;tig us up and said: "Do try and get the Borough Council to do something. My boy was thrown to the ground today through his horse slipping on the asphalt. His leg is terribly injured, and he may be ruined for life. The street is dangerous to drive or ride along, and I know it. Do try and, get something done, if only to save others from the injury that has befallen my poor boy. The doctor tells me that this is the sixth serious accident 'he has attended from the same cause during the last few months." We respectfully present this message to tho 'Mayor and his Council, and ask them, in tho miame of common humanity, if they do not think it time that something was done in the matter.
