A DESPERATE CAUSE.
The Humbug Party are driven to «ufh desperate methods that they resort to loose suggestions arid base imiendo to bolster up th,?ir impotent causo. Tho latest piece of grotesque nonsense is that throe persons were responsible for tho lending article that appeared, in yesterday's Age, in which the shuffling and wiggling of the Humbug Party was exposed in all its wretchedness. This pap«r is .not In tho habit of calling in outside assistance. .Nor does it pirate the articles of other journals and publish them as its own. It may do many things that, in the eyas o» iiumbug, are very wicked. It does not steal! Tito Age is just as well able to defend clean journalism against wholesale piracy as it is to defend the community against the machinations or a pastmuster in humbug;.
