A MYSTERIOUS RESOLUTION.
A resolution that is shrouded in mystery was passed at last, night's meeting at Lansdowne. It would seem to be an. attempt to prove something out of nothing. Precisely what the appointment of a teacher to the Masterton District High School has to do with the Trust election, we cannot understand. Nor can we conceive how a public meeting, called to hear a "High School Party," could
tak:i upon itself to traverse tho doingy of tho Education Board or tho District High Scuool Committee, i Mr Itoliin.son may be endeavouring to show that the attendance at tho secondary classes of the District High School is falling off, and that this proves the necessity for a High School proper. Such a conclusion would, of course, be ridiculous. It may interest Mr Robinson to know that the Eketahuna District High. School, recently opened, has taken a number of pupils from the Masterton District High School. But assuming that this were not the case, and that th '.re was a natural falling off. How would this strengthen the case for u High School proper? Would it not rather prove that some more utilitarian institution is wanted ?
