The auction sale of 25,000 acres, portion of the famous Mokau estate, was held to-day by Messrs Abraham and Williams, with a good attendance, on behalf of the Mokau Con and Estates Company, Ltd. Fiv" sections, being Nos. 16, 3, 4, 5 ai?V 18 were sold tinder the hammer, ou'f of a total of t,wtelve sections offered. The prices obtained ranged from £3 to ..'£4 per acre. One section reached the reserve, and the other four slights ly passed it. The balance of the sections did not reach the reserve, which ranged from £2 os to £3 10s per acre, an<J in one instance £4.
