MINISTERS INTERVIEWED. (Received Last Night, 9.5 o'clock.) SYDNEY, April 23. A deputation representing Southern and Northern ooal miners and the Sydney and Newcastle coal lumpers unions and seamen's unions have interviewed the Hon. jas. McGowen and Hon A. (j. Carmichael in reference to colliery troubles. It is understood that important proposals will be submitted. Mr McGowen has announced that it has been agreed not to divulge the proceedings.
STRIKE PAY.
FOR SOUTHERN MINERS. (Received Last Night, 9.5 o'clock.) SYDNEY, April 23. The first distribution of strike pay to Southern miners has been made at the rate of 8s to each miner and 2s lor each child, which is at the rate of Is 6d per week during the currency of the strike. The smallness of the amount paid is attributed to the fact. that many unions have not yet responded to the appeal for funds.
