TO-DAY'S RACE MEETING.
It si not everybody hthat takes an interest in a race meeting. People are so constructed, that what is food for one is poison for another We are living is a cosmopolitan age,' however, and it is right and proper that people should be permitted*' to indulge their appetites for sport in whatever direction they think proper, provided always that they do so at their own expense. The Masterton Racing Club numbers among its members some of the best settlers, and some of the best townsmen* in the j Wairarapa. It has had -a varied car- j eer, but in recent years fortune has smiled upon it. The public has been more generous in its support of the dub, and there k reason to hope that, with a few successful meetings, Masterton will occupy an important place among the racing fixtures of the Dominion. There is every indication of the present meeting being a pronounced success.
