BOROUGH COUNCIL.
ORDINARY MEETING. The ordinary meeting of the Masterton Borough Council wa s held in the Council Chambers last evening, there being present: Crs. J. Elliott (in the chair), H. J. O'Leary, F. W. Temple, E. Flanagan, W. Candy, AV. Pragnell, J. P. Prentice, and A. Donald. Leave of absence was granted to his Worship the Mayor (Mr J. M. Coradine). A letter was received f''om the deputy-Chief Health Officer, requesting tlie Council to appoint n member to the Plumbers' Board of New Zealand. It wa-s decided to nominate the AVellington City ICngmeer to repre-,<-ent the Council on the Board. _ An application received for a license to carry on business as a secowi-hand dealer, was held over pending certain information being received, tho Town Clerk being instructed to renovt on the matter at next meeting of the Council. The report, of the manager of the Municipal Gasworks was adopted. . adopted. _ . Accounts amounting to £llsß 15s 4d were parsed for (payment, and made up as follow: General account £350 13s Id, gas account £BOB 2s 3d.
