MARCONI SHARES.
EVIDENCE AT INQUIRY. UNIONISTS' NAME^|MENTIONED. (Received April 15, 8.30 a.m.) LONDON ,April 14. The sitting of the Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry into the contract between the Marconi Wireless Telegraph Company and the British Post Office was continued. Mr Godfrey Isaacs, President of the Marconi Company, and a brother of Sir Rufus Isaacs (Attorney-General), gave evidence that lie had heard through Mr Hawkins and others that Mayor Archer-Shee (Unionist M.P. for Finsbury Central), and Mr J. Norton Griffiths (Unionist M.F. for Wedriefj-" bury) were associated with the Poulsen Syndicate in endeavouring to prevent ratification of the contract between tho Post Office arid the Marconi Company. Major Archer-Shee sent a telegram to the Committee denying that he had any financial interest in any wireless concern. "PURE INVENTION." (Received April 15, 2 p.m.) LONDON ,April 14. Mr J. Norton Griffiths denies that he was ever interested in the Poulsen •lystrm rr that he spread rumours about M : :st?rK or the contract. Mr Godfrey Isaacs, cross-examined, said he was unable to recall the names of the persons who had told him" of the rumour? regarding the Government. He had not called Sir Rufus' attention to'them. He did not know till October that Sir Rufus had bought Mv.rconi shares.
