GOVERNMENT POLICY.
Although the Prime Minister gave at Ohi-istchurch a broad outline of the large proposals that he intends submitting to Parliament in the coming session, he bas not yet taken the country into his confidence concerning his detailed policy. Probably Iho is awaiting the return of the Hon. F. M. B. Fisher, and corres-. pondence from the Hon. J. Allen before he makes a definite pronouncement. The House will meet in aboutwo months' time, and it is reasonable to suppose that at least a fof the policy measures are in course of preparation. It is hardly fair to the electors that they should wr", for the Governor's Speech for an announcement of policy. All policy measures are of necessity of great public moment, and it is essential that these should be freely discussed outside as well as inside Parliament. We should ha glad of same early information on the matter from Mr Massey.
