FEDERAL ELECTIONS.
SPEECH BY OPPOSITION LEADER, WHAT THE LABOUR PARTY HAS DONE. (Received Last Night, 10.30 o'clock.) SYDNEY, April 9. Mr Cook, the Federal Opposition Leader, in a speech attacking- the Labour Party, stated that if all things transpiring to-day were the result of the party's wonderful performances, then they must not decline to set these things to their credit: —253 strikes, causing thelloss s of £8,000,000 in wages; an increase in the, cost of living ibv 30 per cent, as declared on oath before the Industrial Court! increased taxation of at least £lO to £l2 per family; money tight and difficult to obtain.
