SOLWAY SALE
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their Sohvay sale as follows: An exceptionally heavy .yarding of sheep of all classes was offered to a largo attendance of buyers. Our entry totalled 3600, of which we sold 2800, practically all of which were sold under the hammer. The demand for good ewes was quite up to that of sale; but inferior sorts and medium lambs were rather dull of sale. Included in our entry we offered on account of Messrs Osmond Bros., Wainui-o-mapri, a nice line of 850 4 and 5-year breeding ewes, the top end of 300 realising 13s 3d and the balance lis. These prices must be considered highly satisfactory. The following is a. list of other prices: -I and 5-year breeding ewes (best lines') 10s 10d to 13s 3d, medium ewes 7s (id to 9s 9d, aged and inferior ewes 3,* Cxi to 4s Cxi, fat and forward o.wos to 13s sd, forward ewes 10s, .medium 2tooth ewes to lis 2d, forward 4-tooth wethers to los 3d, medium-wethers to lis, small wethers 9s, medium woolly lambs 5s Id Cx lid. medium woolly lambs (shorn) to 6s. cull lambs ,3s 2d to 4s. Cattle,—We yarded and ■sold on account of Messrs Barton Bros., Ma ta ikon a : Empty 2V-vcar heifers £3 12s, forward (wvs to £4 10s.
