THE HOLIDAY
TO-MORROW'S .ATTRACTIONS. To-morrow .being the seventy-third a-nniversary of the Province of Wellington, will be observed as a general holiday in- the district. The Wairarapa.Age.will.be published as usual, but the general public will be given lip to holiday-making. The chief attraction for Ma.stertonians will be the swimming carnival at the Park Lake, for which numerous entries have been received, including some of the best swimmers of the province. A goiod Bay's sport is premised. lawn tennis tournament, which will extend over three days, will be commenced on the local courts. This should ait-rack those who ure enthusiasts in the game. A number of pedestrians will proceed to Gladstone, where the -annual sports meeting is to be. held. The. Ekctahuna Farmers' Union show will be of interest to settlers in the Forty-Mile Bush. The sporting fraternity will, no doubt, take advantage of the convenient train «ervie° and the holiday, to patronise tfi'p Oup meeting at Trentham. Several picnics will he heir] around jVjasterton, including the annual picnic. of St. Matthew's Sundav School at.Akura.
