WORKERS' HOMES.
The Prime Minister has indicated his | intention of introducing legislation to enable the provision of a suitable form of workers' homes in rural communities. What are wanted are small areas of from three to five acres, in close proximity to townships, where workers eon id keep a cow, grow vegetables for the mairket, engage in the fruit industry, and so forth. A house and land .should be available for about £6OO. The interest and a sinking fund could be provided for ,a rental of about 15s per week. There is a genuine demand for homes of this sort, and Mr Ma-ssev will be rendering a genuine service to the workers, and to the community as a whole, if ho can provide them.
