WANGANUI. Last Night

A man named Jack Brady, about 40 years of age, a well-known contractor, fell off the river steamer at Kaiwhaike this morning, and was drowned. The boat was travelling fast against a strong current, and Brady was carried a long way astern. He sank before assistance could reach him. The body has not been recovered.
