There is .a probability of its being necessary to enlarge tlie Longbiisii cheese factory shortly. One station owner intends to establish a. herd of two hundred cows, and send the milk to the factory. A resident of Pembroke Street, Carterton, had the misfortune to have 26 purebred white Leghorn fowls ■' destroyed: through the ravages of dogs a few days ago. On Saturday morning a tractiaa engine load of 87 bales of wool was landed at the Carterton Railwawy Sta- j tion from the Hinaki station.
