XMAS PREPARATIONS

i The windows of Mr A. J. (biddings' grocery store in Queen Street, are ablaze just now with samples of the delicacies that go to make up the "Xinas cheer," which is being eagerly looked forward to by old and young.. Fine hams, rolls of bacon, plum pwfdings, ready mixed, mince for pies, currants, raisins, spices and peels for puddings and cakes. Meat and fish delicacies in bottles, jars and tins. Then, there are figs, prunes, dates, muscatels, almonds, and other dessert fruits, all sorts and varieties of biscuits of the best makes, cordials and refreshing drinks, and the thousand and one things tha are in demand at this festive season, of the year. Judging by the variety and quality, everyone should be satisfied. MY G iddings is also offering a special inducement to his patrons in a great sale of toys, which will commence to-morrow. Wednesda-- morning. The stock consists of the balance of last year's toys and they are to he 'cleared right out by Saturday nigh*. at "half price or your own price." The public are elsewhere invited not to miss this great opportunity.
