BURGLARY AT CARTERTON
BUSINESS PREMISES ENTERED
A SUM OF MONEY STOLEN
Some time between closing hour on Wednesday night and opening on Thursday morning, an entrance was effected into the cycle business premises of Mr A. S. Judd, in High St., Carterton, and subsequent investigation discloses the fact that tho burglar, or burglars, succeeded in relieving the till of £9- 10s. Tho building was securely locked up about 11 p.m. and it wa,s between that hour and 8 o'clock on the following morning that the crime was committed. As far as the proprietor can ascertain, nothing else is missing from the shop, and indications point to the fact that the perpetrator of tho burglary evidently possessed snowlodge as to whera ll e money was kept, and made practical iirso of it. The matter is in the hands of the police, who are prosecuting inquiries.
