NAPIER, Lost Night. The Taupo correspondent of the Herald tei.'graphs that tlio X{n»ruhoo crater is very active. A great column of black smoke is rising from the crater, and drifting towards the Kaimanawas. (The last occasion upon which Ngauruhoo was very active was about three years ago. On that occasion the surrounding country was covered with volcanic dust.)
