The. following local factories consigned chwso away on Friday for shipment Home: Dalefield, 500 cases; Parkvale, 260; Belvedere, 251: Taratahi, 150; Carrington, 90; I.ongush, 25; making a grand total of 1276 cases.
In the Police Court on Friday a juvenile was charged with, destroying 15 filter sheets and three sewerage pipes, valued at £6, tho property of the Carterton Borough Council. On the application of the police the accused was remanded till next Friday. A Native lad, alleged to ho a confederate in the offence, will ajso bo charged together with the neonsod. Mr and Mrs Harkness, of Olareville, who aro leaving for Hamilton, were entertained at a social gathering on Thursday evening, and presented with a «et of carvers and a travelling rug as tokon of esteem. Mr W. C. Buchanan, M.P., made the presentation, on behalf of the residents.
