A NAVY LEAGUE DEMAND
ASSURANCE FROM WAR OFFICE

LONDON, November 22
Tho Navy League has demanded th-? laying down of four largo armoured xmits, in addition to tho rive ships provided for in next year's programme, in order to guarantee the •supremacy of the .sea for the year 1915.
Mr Harold J. Tennant, Liberal member for Berwickshire, and Financial Secretary to tho War Office, speaking at Holborn, said that the defence forces of the Empire wore in perfect readiness, and an expeditionary force was ready to start at any m< ment. Sir John French had stated that- tho British guns were not inferior to those which had worked such havoc in the Balkan war.
