MOTION OF NO-CONFIDENCE

In the Assembly to-day, Mr Wood askod 31 r McGowen, tho Prime Minister, what he intended to do to remedy tho position which had arisen in view of the Speaker's .statement that lio virtually controlled tho business of the House under the Standing Orders.
The Hon Mr McGowen wiid he realised that the Government was in very difficult position; but they wore prepared to take action to protect ilie business of tho House if the nceO" sitv arose.
Mr Wood then gave notice of motion "That this Houso reaffirms ii. ;; right to make and control, through its members, the business of the Houso, and that in- view of -the Speaker's declaration, Mr Willis no longer possesses the confidence of the House." The motion will bo discussed nri Motulav.
