Seeing that the economic production of butter-fat is the fundamental principle of successful dairying, the council of tho N.Z. Jersey Cattle Breeders' Association is asking the Minister of Agriculture to arrange for the institution of- a system of rcr cords for purebred dairy stock, whereby not only a milk and butter fat record is kept, but also a record of tho cost and class of food consumed. Tho proposal is one that will doubtless commend itself to the Minister. Similar tests have boon made for years in the United States, with excellent results. The suggestion is that the experimental fa I'm s bo used for the purpose.
