FERNYHURST ESTATE.

It is with pleasure that wo record the fact that an estate of some proportions, within a few miles of Masterton, is to be offered the Governm&nt for'closer settlement. The Fernyhurst estate is, we believe, admirably adapted for small farms. It would accommodate at least- ten -.settlers, and could, it is said, be made to produce double what it is at present producing. It is to be hoped that satisfactory arrangements can be made with the Government for taking over this property. Wo understand, also, that there is still hope of the Poro Poro estate being acquired. This will be a, beginning. But, like,- Oliver Twist, we shall bo asking for more;
