MIRACLE OF THE BLOOD.
.The yearly miracle of the liquefaction of tho blood of St. Januarius in the cathedral at Naples was accomplished last month, Inside the building tho excitement was at its highest pitch, and the impatience of the congregation was such that the police, who take charge on these occasions, had the utmost difficulty in keeping order and preventing the people from rushing the high altar, where the relic of the saint, in the shape of the blood in a glass tube, is kept. At the supreme moment guns were fired and i "Te Deuui" sung. The bells pealed all over the city, and the Neapolitans, in a perfect frenzy of joy, applauded and wept tears ,of happiness. They were convinced of immunity for another year from the eruptions of Mount Vesuvius.
